Everyone is writing some sort of a new year's post so I figured I'd join in on the fun. I could write a list of resolutions for the upcoming year or recap 2008, but all of that seems a bit cliche. Truth be told however I did want to write a post about how this year I was going to live according to the NYT's bestseller "The Secret", and then periodically post updates to let everyone know how it was coming. This still may happen but I refuse to buy the book out of spite for the authors, so if you know anyone with a copy ask if you can borrow it and send it down to Dallas.
With all that being said, rather than simply say "Happy New Year" and be done with it and/or attempt at writing something witty, I ran across the following clip from TED and figured it would be appropriate to start off the new year. The video explores whether or not you can buy happiness by looking at the emotional payoff achieved when you have acquired the absolute best. To give you a hint at what this clip reveals, reread this post again except with the knowledge that this blog earns around $1,000 / month thanks to various endorsements and referrals from other top news sites. Its not true of course, but it'll feel better if you believe it to be true.
